Dorothy Halloween Costume

A friend's daughter wants to be "Dorothy" for Halloween. I'm going to surprise her with this when I go over this afternoon. It's my first successful attempt at a Peter pan collar. I changed the pattern a bit - I wanted the bodice to be lined. The lining actually made the collar go in easier - no hand-sewing the binding!!

Tracy-
This is adorable! I think your "girl child" would look great in it too. What is she hoping to dress up as?

Tracy, I now believe the secret to a good, smooth peter pan collar is absolutely to use piping in it -- if you try it, you'll become a believer too!

It is adorable, by the way!

Hey, Swindy (who are you?). My girl child is going to be Fancy Nancy. She's having a Fancy Nancy birthday party, so it fits right in.

Jnet, really? I still haven't mastered piping. Next time we're together, you're going to give me a demo. Even with the zipper foot I have trouble.

Ooh!! Swindy! I get it. I went straight from this site to the My Family website... Clever!

I thought it would put my real name, not pick up an email id :-/
Glad you figured it out. You're so smart. Love your blog BTW.
Can't wait to see Fancy Nancy pixs?
